3 Steps to Picking The Right Children's Violin

  • Choose the right size! If you can‘t find the right size, bigger is better than smaller. (Size chart below)
  • Buy within the budget, don’t need a high price. For kids, skill is more important than violin price!
  • Pick a look you like .(paint style, back plate pattern, etc.)

How To Measure For A Violin

  1. Offline shopping. Please lift the violin with the shoulders you are used to playing, and reach the arm out to wrap their fingers around the scroll. If you can wrap most of your fingers around the top of the scroll and maintain a slight bend in your arm, then the violin size is just right.
  2. Online shopping. Extend the arm fully and perpendicular to the body with the palm facing up. Measure from the base of the neck to the middle of the palm and check the table below to find the right size. If you are between sizes, please choose the smaller size. (The important factor is if you are able to or very close to playing the 4th finger. )violin sizing chart

Taking care of your violin will effectively extend its lifespan. First wipe the rosin from the violin, bow, string with a polishing cloth (included in most of our outfits) after each play, then place the violin in a case to protect the violin.
Then, pay attention to the humidity and temperature of the environment you are in. The ideal humidity is around 40%, and you need a humidifier when it is dry in winter and dehumidifier when it is wet in summer. Please don’t leave the instrument in the car or outdoors for a long time, the damage to the violin in extreme environments is irreversible. We've seen many violinists leave their violin in a hot car in the summer, and then the paint all melts, irreversible damage to the violin. Read more:Routine care and maintenance of violins and bows.
