The Classic Reproduction (CR) series of violins are crafted by Fiddlover's luthiers based on the parameter information of renowned instruments. Not only are they replicas, but also a continuation and enhancement of tradition, which is our greatest characteristic, making each violin unique.

This violin is a perfect replica of the Guarneri Del Gesù Kreisler 1730 Violin, and the luthier not only used the Kreisler Violin as a model but also achieved a perfect restoration of the original instrument in terms of appearance and sound quality.

The top of the violin is made of European spruce from the Alps, while the back, rib, and headstock are made of Bosnian maple, and the fittings are made of high-quality ebony. All materials were carefully selected to match the appearance of the Kreisler 1730 Violin and were treated to give an aged look in accordance with the existing instrument. Therefore, the violin has a very similar appearance to the 1730 Kreisler Violin and perfectly replicates the sound.

The specific parameters are as follows:

  • Top: European spruce from the Alps, naturally air-dried for 15 years
  • Back, rib, and headstock: Bosnian maple, naturally air-dried for 15 years
  • Fittings: High-quality ebony
  • Bridge: French Aubert(Titanium Metal Bridge Clip)
  • Strings: Austrian Thomastik Infeld Vienna Vision VI100
  • Color: Brown-red
  • Varnish: Pure oil-based amber varnish
  • Model: Guarneri Del Gesù Kreisler 1730 Violin
  • Craftsmanship: Italian traditional Purfling First technique, handmade by master luthiers

Comparison between the antique Kreisler Violin and Fiddlover's CR100 violin.

Comparison between the antique Kreisler Violin and Fiddlover's CR100 violin top
The scratched portion of the top has been designed with an antique look, and some of the marks are similar to those on the original Kreisler Violin.

Comparison between the antique Kreisler Violin and Fiddlover's CR100 violin back
The backplate pattern was chosen to match that of the original Kreisler Violin, with a perfect match of the pattern style and wood quality. Fiddlover Classic Reproduction Del Gesù Kreisler 1730 Violin (CR100) is the only one. It is consistent with the product picture and video, and the color may be slightly different. It will be adjusted by professional settings before delivery, and the violin can be used after being tuned after receiving it.

Taking care of your violin will effectively extend its lifespan. First wipe the rosin from the violin, bow, string with a polishing cloth (included in most of our outfits) after each play, then place the violin in a case to protect the violin.
Then, pay attention to the humidity and temperature of the environment you are in. The ideal humidity is around 40%, and you need a humidifier when it is dry in winter and dehumidifier when it is wet in summer. Please don’t leave the instrument in the car or outdoors for a long time, the damage to the violin in extreme environments is irreversible. We've seen many violinists leave their violin in a hot car in the summer, and then the paint all melts, irreversible damage to the violin. Read more:Routine care and maintenance of violins and bows.
